The Jupiter is the most extravagant Ritter model. The inspiration for this design came to me on the last afternoon of the previous millennium. After sketching and making the technical drawing, it was time to join the millennium celebrations. However, I decided to quickly draw the shape on body wood, and then to saw the shape. Just a few minutes more to shape. Fireworks outside the workshop woke me from my deep “sanding mediation”. Time had slipped away. Art collectors are drawn to its dynamic shape and features. The Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C. acquired a Jupiter bass for their permanent collection
