A nearly identical bass – finished only in a different color – is now part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. It fills me with great pride to know that this renowned institution has included one of my instruments in ist collection. Technically, “The Black Concept” is almost identical, yet it appears entirely in black. This color concept gives the bass a futuristic, almost artificial presence. At the same time, the finely marbled grain of the ebony fingerboard reveals that natural materials have been used and shaped with the highest level of craftsmanship. An instrument reduced to the max. One pure sound.

The twin in the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston
A nearly identical bass with the identification number #2217, finished only in a different color, is now part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

A loud understatement
This instrument brings elegance to its purest point: the reduced design of the R8 Concept Bass, refined by a deep black color and the smooth Futura Frosted finish. It is quiet in appearance, yet unmistakably strong in presence.

Sound that follows the look
The sound perfectly accompanies the look: a wonderful upright bass character with very present mids. Warm, grounded, and focused, it gives the instrument a voice that feels as elegant and direct as its visual language.
